I found this queen and while leaving the gym last night. This is the first time I've seen this species in Grand Forks since moving here two years ago. I am fairly certain she is a parasitic Lasius...

Might be Lasius (Chthonolasius) minutus, a small-queened relative of L. umbratus. I've never seen one, only read descriptions. She sure is cute, I think.

It looks most like an unusually small queen of L. claviger.
